The Holiday Booty Market will take place inside Design Within Reach in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. And don’t let this awesome list of crafters fool you, because I too will be hocking my wares at this totally rad show.
So come on out, shop for some great last minute gifts and support your favorite local, indie crafters.
We have officially entered the holiday season. I know this because not only am I inundated with Christmas music everywhere I go, but I have seen the Chia Pet commercial on TV at least five times already.
So if we’ve entered the holiday season and the holiday season is the season for giving, then you better get crackin’ on that naughty and nice list of yours. And what better way to reward all those super nice people in your life then giving them the gift of handmade?
You can pledge your support for indie crafters, designers and all out handmade mavens by taking the handmade pledge. But it isn’t required when hunting for that perfect indie gift.

As the season turns and the leaves change I find myself wanting nothing more than to curl up on the couch with a warm blanket and catch up on my Netflix and Hulu queue. It is the ultimate in comfort and helps make the transition of the season a little bit easier.

The amazing fiber artist Joetta Maue is curating a fiber arts show and has put out a call for entries.
connective thread will be an exhibition of contemporary fiber work that explores the role of thread and the act of making as connective at Sweet Lorraine Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. The exhibition will be held during the month of January 2010.
The theme is open to all interpretations. Some possibilities are work that has a metaphorical connection to history, the body, family, space, or work can focus specifically on dealing with the literal connections created in the act of making. Please feel free to interpret liberally.
Submission Deadline is November 25.
