DCCAH Public Input Session

Call box art The DC Commission on Arts and Humanities is currently crafting its next strategic plan and wants public input on the next phase.

Support of the arts and arts organization, arts education and arts advocacy will be discussed at a public input session taking place next Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. at DCCAH’s offices.

All are invited to attend and participate in the discussion that will surely help shape DCCAH’s programing in years to come.

connective thread Call for Entries

The amazing fiber artist Joetta Maue is curating a fiber arts show and has put out a call for entries.

connective thread will be an exhibition of contemporary fiber work that explores the role of thread and the act of making as connective at Sweet Lorraine Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. The exhibition will be held during the month of January 2010.

The theme is open to all interpretations. Some possibilities are work that has a metaphorical connection to history, the body, family, space, or work can focus specifically on dealing with the literal connections created in the act of making. Please feel free to interpret liberally.

Submission Deadline is November 25.
