I successfully completed my Upcycled Secret Santa gift. A part of an event hosted by Hello Craft, all participants were asked to use found materials/objects to make something new, for their secret Santa.
My secret Santa might be getting her gift a little bit late as I really wanted to keep my wee creation.
If you are a part of Hello Craft’s Upcycled Secret Santa Swap – discontinue reading right now, until you have received your gift. Then, and only then can you see what I made for my secret Santa.
Isn’t he adorable?! Inspired by some daytime television watching of the Martha Stewart show, I downloaded the instructions from her website on how to make glove animals. I loosely followed them and came up with my bunny.
He is made from lost gloves that I rescued from the metro. His scarf is knit using the very last of a skein of yarn and his eyes are from the vast collection of lost buttons that I accumulate throughout the year.
All in all, he cost me nothing to make. I either found or had the materials on hand, repurposing and upcycling as I went.
I hope that my secret Santa enjoys him as much as I enjoyed making him and then subsequently, wanting to keep him.
